Life of a Pole Girl

Documenting my journey in pole dancing/pole fitness, one mistake and one victory at a time.

Monday, March 24, 2014

My poling has been, unfortunately,  rather sporadic lately.  I've found myself in a funk,  not just pole wise,  but in all areas.   Last week I couldn't find a single song worth dancing to,  but did manage to do some practice,  just no real floorwork.

However,  I did find today in my unusually busy Monday schedule.   Which was nice.

I'm still shocked that I see improvement even in the sporadic schedule I've been keeping.   So,  I just wanted to kind of list out my latest personal accomplishments.

1.  Handstands.   I can easily go into one now,  can hold it for 20 seconds,  and can control release from it.

2.  I can now pull myself up onto the pole.  Once up there I can extend my legs and push my arms out into an extended position.   I feel that I'm getting close to attempting an inversion, which is exciting.

3.  I've reached mastery of the fireman spin,  as I  can effectively do one every time I attempt it.

4.  I'm close to mastery on the one legged open spin

5.  Today I did the martini spin for the first time.   Made me feel good.
