pole adventures
So, I bought a dancing pole.
Actually, my husband got it for me because I really wanted one.
We installed it Tuesday night, and Wednesday I was trying my hand at all the beginner moves. I failed, lol.
I didn't quit though. Got right back up there the next day.
I want to write about my experience with this. I want to document.
It's My 4th day. And, I've become addicted. I think about what I need to learn, what I want to learn. I spend free time on YouTube looking up videos.
Yesterday I was recovering from being sick over the weekend, and though still not 100%, I worked on moves.
I Did a backbend, which thrilled me. I attempted to do a move called "the Scissors" which is basically lifting up and moving your legs in a fan like motion from one side of the pole to the other.
Couldn't do it. Hell, I have no upper body strength (hence why I'm not doing the slides yet), but it looked fairly easy andi wanted to try it.
Monday I spent my time with that, focusing on it, not stopping after failing the up teeth time. (I did other things, but went back to that) I never nailed it, but gave it a good trainer worthy try.
Today I felt better, and wanted to dance a bit. Try to incorporate the log roll in, maybe work more on my floor inversion. At some point I thought what the hell, bad romance is jamming on the ipod, try out the scissor.
I sway around, wrap my arms into position, grip tightly, and lift. It happened! It was quick, and fleeting, and not exactly pretty, but I managed to get both legs up of the ground at the same time! I did it a few more times on both sides.
I did a few more dips, lunges and log rolls, the I had to abruptly end my session, (portable pole with a slightly slanted ceiling can cause it to shift, NOT fall, but I stop if that happens and hubby readjusts it)
Anyway. I was drinking my water and decided I wanted to work on my head stand. NAILED THEM! Fuck yeah! (My boob popped out to the amusement of my toddler, so I need to wear my sport's bra tomorrow)
I'm still bruised from monday, with more from today forming, but it feels good.
More tomorrow!
